This resort served as a convenient base for exploring nearby presidential homes and Civil War sites, with beautiful views of the lake adding to our stay. The accommodations could use some updating, and the housekeeping was a bit lacking. The range of outdoor activities was a highlight for the kids, but some amenities need attention for a better overall experience.

Rooms
6.0
Our unit needed a little updating, and it felt damp and musty. The lack of sufficient amenities like toiletries and a comfortable chair were drawbacks.
Service
6.0
The service was variable; while some staff members were attentive, housekeeping was particularly disappointing, with issues left unaddressed during our stay.
Location
9.0
The location was beautiful, just an hour away from many historic sites, making it ideal for exploration.
Dining
5.0
Dining options were limited, requiring a drive for meals. The convenience of a general store on-site helped marginally, but healthier choices would have been appreciated.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities offered a good variety of activities for families, including mini-golf and various outdoor pursuits, but the upkeep of the amenities could improve.

I really enjoyed my stay at this resort, which boasts beautiful outdoor settings and well-kept grounds. The cabins were appealing and offered great amenities like a grill and full kitchen. However, my experience was marred by some cleanliness issues and the fact that key facilities like the indoor pool were closed during our visit, which was disappointing for my family. Overall, while it provided a nice getaway, it needed a bit more attention to detail.

Location

The resort is conveniently located near some great attractions like Luray Caverns and Shenandoah National Park.
Dining
5.0
Unfortunately, there is no on-site restaurant, and options for dining were quite limited, requiring travel for meals.

I had a lovely stay in a spacious two-bedroom cabin that was recently updated, but it started off a bit rocky with some maintenance issues that could have been caught before our arrival. The friendly maintenance staff addressed our concerns promptly, which was appreciated. While the amenities were generally good, it was slightly frustrating that the check-in process took longer than expected. Overall, it was a relaxing getaway surrounded by nature, even though some aspects could use improvement.

My stay had its ups and downs. The scenic views and recreational options were fantastic, and I loved the chance to enjoy some outdoor activities. The dining was limited in hours and menu options, which was disappointing. Overall, it's a decent place if you're not expecting a full-service hotel experience.
